Easy Fudge

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Grease 8 x 8 pan with nonstick spray

COMBINE sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt in medium saucepan. Bring to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil, stirring constantly, for 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

STIR in marshmallows, morsels, nuts and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted. Pour into prepared baking pan; refrigerate for 2 hours or until firm. Lift from pan. Cut into pieces.

NOTE:
The basic ingredients are above, However I have altered it for several variations of fudge. Instead of chocolate chips you can substitute whichever kind of chip you would like depending on the type of fudge. For example, I have used white chocolate chips then added crushed up oreos at the very end for oreo fudge, I've used peanut butter chips for peanut butter fudge, and I've made several kinds of mint and candy cane fudge. If you stick to the main ingredients and just switch the chips out, it should turn out great.
